Villa Description
Goat Hill sits on a remarkable site, located specifically to benefit from the spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea and the most favorable trade-winds day and night. The east view captures the sunrise, Montego Bay and the nearby Great River while the west view provides an equally lovely view toward the Round Hill Resort, the Caribbean Sea and the sunset. Recently, the entire property was lavishly renovated with simply the best of everything.
Nestled on 3.5 acres of lush hillside, the villa captures the most spectacular views of Montego Bay, the city lights at night and fabulous Caribbean ocean views during the day.
The villa was designed by the son of architect Edward Durrell Stone and provides an ingenious arrangement of individual pavilions-wrapped by cut stone terraces and balconies which are shaded from the sun by deep cedar eaves. Each bedroom is accessed by a stone stairway which results in privacy in all living areas. Each pavilion has three walls of single panel glass doors that open dramatically to the magnificent day and night views as well as the soothing trade winds. Textures of rich mahogany, highly polished brass and white canvas upholstery form the exquisite interiors. A tiled bar adjoins the living room.
All of the villa's bedrooms and bathrooms feature new South American cherry hardwood floors. Each 15' x 20' bedroom is air-conditioned and commands a fabulous ocean view. Individual TV with DVD players in each bedroom. All bedrooms are outfitted with Italian linens and each bathroom has a large sunken shower area and a west wall of louvers that open to gardens planted with lilies. All of the bathrooms at the home feature Starfish Oils amenities (soaps, candles etc.), Grohe rainfall shower heads, double vanities and Frette towels.
Goat Hill's chef, Patricia, recently upgraded her skills during a three week apprenticeship with Normal Shirley a renowned head chef at Norma's on the Terrace in Kingston, Jamaica. Breakfasts are served on the villa's west verandah under the ackee tree and in view of the graceful slope of Round Hill across the water. Delightful lunches are served poolside or on the east terrace. Wonderful and delicious home cooked dinners are served by soft candlelight on a stunning mahogany table as the lights of nearby Montego Bay and passing cruise ships sparkle like diamonds across the water.
Please note that due to the villa's architecture which include outside stone stairways to each bedroom, Goat Hill is not recommended for families with young children unless are nannies are employed which we are happy to arrange.
