Frankfort is a 17th Century fortress that was brilliantly restored as a remarkable four-bedroom home on a beautiful idyllic Caribbean beach. The old Sugar Wharf House features the original fortified loopholes, original beamed ceilings and fortified stone walls.

In 2004, Frankfort underwent a total renovation and was completely transformed into a paradigm of 21st Century laid-back elegance. Frankfort was once the holiday retreat of Winston Churchill, Queen Mary, Prince Edward, Secretary General U Thant, Prime Minister Trudeau, Prime Minister Michael Manley, Dr. Henry Kissinger, Sir Noel Coward, Bryan Adams and Drew Barrymore. Guests will enjoy the old photos of celebrity guests that still sit atop the piano.

The half million dollar renovation included adding Italian Travertine floors, stylish and comfortable seating areas in crisp white fabrics and stunning Euro-style modern bedrooms with brand new en-suite bathrooms complete with glass wall showers. All of the furniture and fabrics were imported from the UK and Europe and many were designed exclusively for Frankfort by Carlone Shasha Interiors of London.

The original two-foot thick stone walls and gun slots are still in place and serve as reminders of Frankfort�s days as a British fort defending against Spanish invaders and pirates. Two old cannons were dug up from the beach and reign squarely on the lawn.

Floor to ceiling bookcases serve to divide the ground floor into two sections: one an elegant inside dining area with a dimly lit bar and the other a comfortable living room, TV, music and games area.

An 80' Travertine and stone verandah is furnished from the stylish Dedon Collection from Germany. This covered furnished area serves as a fabulous gathering area for drinks and alfresco dining as the sun sets over Frankfort's perfect white sand beach.

The Main House has three air-conditioned bedrooms each with a flat screen TV and each that opens through double doors to the 80' balcony and ocean view. Every bathroom is outfitted with chic Euro-design Grohe fixtures, double basin vanity and glass wall shower. Guests will enjoy falling asleep to the sound of the waves lapping on the beach. The master bedroom is 460 square feet and has a king size bed, en-suite Travertine bathroom and glass wall rainfall shower plus separate bathtub. A middle bedroom has 240 square feet and offers the option of either twin beds or king size beds plus a double sofa bed as well as a glass and tile walk in shower. The third bedroom in the main house has 400 square feet and offers either an optional king size bed or two twins plus another queen size sofa bed and a glass and tile walk in shower.

A cut stone path leads 60 feet across the lawn to the old Schoolhouse which was built in 1953 for the Mitchell's only daughter, Mary Jean. Bach then when Sir Harold and Prime Minister Churchill were meeting in the main house, Mary Jean's care and education were looked after here by her nanny and tutor. Years later, a second story was added and the Schoolhouse was converted to an air-conditioned cottage with Frankfort's fourth bedroom and mini-gym. The bedroom has optional king size or twin beds, en-suite bathroom with double basin marble vanity and walk in shower and directly overlooks the beach and ocean. Downstairs there is a living room, TV, double sofa bed, mini-fridge, Nordic Track Incline and Weslo Cadence.

Frankfort provides all of the luxury amenities guests would expect of this caliber a property. There are 6 flat screen satellite TV's, 1 piano, wireless Internet, electronic gate, safes in all bedroom closets.

The villa is extremely child friendly and provides 2 complementary cribs, 1 complementary high chair and three sofa beds.

Frankfort's beach is sugar white and the swimming is wonderful in it's gin clear waters. The gardener is available to place comfortable beach chaises in the sun or under thatch umbrellas. The staff is, also, willing to prepare a torchlight beach feast. Just 300 yards offshore is a live reef and snorkels and masks are provided. On request, the butler will hire jet skis, hobie cats, sailfish, sunset cruise or deep sea fishing. Most water sports may be paid by credit card at the nearby Prospect Plantation office.

A pool would have been redundant given the picture perfect beach that Frankfort is located on and an 8 person hot tub overlooks the sea. Frankfort provides sea kayaks, children's beach toys, table tennis and volleyball for the beach. A shared tennis court is located just a 5 minute walk from the villa and balls and 4 racquets are provided.

Rental of the villa includes complementary use of the Estate's shared tennis court, mini-golf course, jitney and horseback riding tours of the famous Prospect Plantation.

Ocho Rios is a colorful resort town and offers delightful attractions which include tubing on the White River, shopping in Island Village, swimming with dolphins, climbing up famous Dunn�s River Falls, and touring Prospect Plantation (the original Great House up the mountain).
